Dr. Richard Gartner directs both the Center for the Study of Psychological Trauma and the Sexual Abuse Program at the William Alanson White Institute in New York City. In addition, he serves on the faculty and is a Supervisor of Psychotherapy at the Institute. He has presented and published papers about his work with sexually abused men since 1992. He edited Memories of Sexual Betrayal: Truth, Fantasy, Repression, and Dissociation, published by Jason Aronson in 1997, and he has recently written Betrayed as Boys: Psychodynamic Treatment of Sexually Abused Men, published by the Guilford Press in 1999. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National Organization on Male Sexual Victimization (NOMSV).
